Before a Customer becomes a customer in iPath, they go through various stages in the Sales Cycle. At vCom the sales cycle is defined as follows:
Lead - leads are contacts or companies that a Sales Associate is working to identify as a future customer. A Lead can contain minimal information, either just a contact name and/or a Company name and phone number.
A Lead remains as a Lead until such time as a Funnel item is added to it.
Prospect - A Lead turns into a Prospect when a Funnel item has been added to it. So, by definition a Prospect must have a Funnel item added to it. A Prospect remains as such until a Quote is added to it.
Opportunity - A Prospect is converted to an Opportunity when a Quote is added to it. Again, by definition then, all Opportunities are all potential customers that have Quotes against them.
Customer - An Opportunity is converted to a Customer upon the promotion of the first order to Provisioning.
